Baby Boom
This year, our church has had a real baby boom - 13 babies born since January! We decided to take a picture of all the mothers & babies for our new church directory. SO... here is the photo, minus 3 mothers & babies who were missing.
Five favorites
Something I've been really striving for in my scrapbooks & journaling is to capture the little things about every day... to capture things that are so easily & so quickly forgotten. I try to do this, not only by journaling about the cute little things that Ryleigh does from day to day, but also little things about myself. It's funny how my own likes, dislikes, & opinions can change within a matter of weeks or months. Here are a few of my favorite things right now...
1. Loving this scent from Bath & Body Works. Normally not a huge Bath & Body works fan, but I really like this one.

2. Ali Edwards' scrapbook design & ideas. Seriously devouring anything I can get of hers. I have been getting so much inspiration from her work, lately.

3. Photography. I'm learning so much about it & loving it!

4. Geneology. Totally into finding out about my roots. Totally into documenting & compiling this information for my family.

5. D.C. Coffee's Southern Pecan flavored coffee. Perfect with a dollop of whipped cream!

Ryleigh's Breaking News

Her first tooth came peeking through today! After months of teething misery (off & on), it is finally making its debut - & we're glad to finally see it. She's been very reluctant to let us see it, but the little glimpse that I got was just the tip of it coming through & it feels very sharp. No wonder she woke us up twice last night. She never does that, & I couldn't figure out why until I discovered the source of her issues this morning. She was somewhat cranky today - especially whenever I would put her down for a nap. We're hoping (& praying) that she has a better night tonight! ;-)
Five years ago...
It's funny how you can look back years later & remember exactly where you where when something disastrous or important happened. Five years ago, I was sitting in my college freshman Old Testament Survey class when we heard the news that planes had crashed into the World Trade Center. I remember the feelings of fear & uncertainty about what was happening in our country as we all sat together in a student assembly & listened to the news reports on the radio. I remember being worried about my mom & dad who were in Mexico at the time & trying over & over to call them, but not getting through because the international phone lines were jammed. It's so hard to believe that it's been five years since all of that happened. I think I can honestly say that not only am I far more patriotic today than I ever was before, but I'm also more aware of the brevity of life & the fact that we should cherish every moment with our families.
