Tagged!

I've been tagged by Charity, so now I have to share seven random facts that most people wouldn't know about me. Hmm... which of my many quirks should I share??

1. I can't stand to have a fly buzzing around when I'm either trying to eat or trying to sleep. I MUST get up & kill it. (This drives Jeff crazy! ;-)

2. I love & greatly miss living in my home state - Texas! (Yes, even though it's sooo hot)

3. I always go to sleep with socks on, but sometime during the night end up kicking them off. (This is very weird, I know. In fact, I have a funny story about that. The first year that I spent Christmas at Jeff's house in Colorado, I stayed in a little camper parked outside their house. When I got back to school, I received a package in the mail from Jeff's mom - it contained one lonely sock! :-) I was extremely embarrassed!)

4. The only guy I ever dated was my husband, Jeff. I was also the only girl he ever dated. (We think that's pretty cool, even though some people might think it a bit odd.)

5. I am not a "people person" at all.

6. I love pumpkin scented candles!

7. Even though I grew up in Mexico, I am the only member of my family (including my husband) that doesn't like spicy food. I can eat it if necessary, but I don't voluntarily put stuff in my food to make it hot.

Now I'm supposed to tag seven fellow-bloggers. So... I am going to tag my Mom, Lori, Renee, Melodie, Myranda, Brenda M. & Heather.

Random Happenings

Nothing much exciting happening here, lately, except for Ryleigh's unceasing attempts at conversation. She's been putting words together for some time, but the other day she put a whole sentence together. I was kind of surprised & amused to hear her very emphatic "I want candy!". (And just to set the record straight, I rarely give her candy - so that's partially why I was surprised to hear her say that!)

This morning, I was sensing that Ryleigh was needing to take a nap soon, so I mentioned it to her. She immediately covered her ears with her hands, shook her head back & forth & emphatically said "No, No, No!" As you might have guessed, Ryleigh hates naps with a passion, so at times naptime can turn into a battle of wills. Therefore, I wasn't overly surprised to hear her hollering & playing in her crib when she was supposed to be sleeping. I walked into her room, fully expecting her to be standing up up (maybe even jumping up & down) in her crib. Since she was still laying exactly where I had put her (& trying to act angelic), instead of spanking her, I gave her a stern warning that she had better settle down & go to sleep. As I headed out the door, I heard her say (in a very sweet, happy little voice) "Bye!". Needless to say, I quickly closed the door so she wouldn't see the smile on my face!
